Well the big secret is out! Tyler and I are going to have a baby this October!! While this was a pretty huge surprise for us we are so excited! I was saying before we found out that we're pregnant how I want to get more prepared before we start having kids by paying off our credit cards, getting better about managing our money, to get physically strong and fit....but I'm now realizing we have the rest of our lives to do those things! Goals are great don't get me wrong, but God's timing is perfect and I think I was just using those things as an excuse because deep down I was unsure if I was really ready to become a mom!
Ever since finding out that I'm pregnant I'm really seeing God's hand on all of it. I've always wanted to be pregnant in the summer time and I used to always think about how October is a great month to have a birthday! (Everyone is back from summer vacation and it's before the holidays) to find out I am due Oct. 20th and I'll be pregnant this summer just reassures me that this baby is a gift from God and He will be with me every step of the way. I really do believe that Jesus has favor on me and on my life. That helps me believe that I will have a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and baby. Which really helps when I feel fear creeping into my mind.
It was so fun telling all of our friends and family and making the post on social media last week! I'm really looking forward to our gender reveal party and the baby shower! I can't wait! I really want a girl first, Tyler wants a boy...so we'll see! One of us will be happy! LOL Of course everyone always says, "I just want a healthy baby" which is true! I do! obviously!!! But I definitely prefer having a girl first! It's a 50/50 chance so we'll see! I'm excited to be on this new journey and I'm really looking forward to Baby Burton! I'm so grateful for all the love and support we've received! Here's to a new adventure!

Here are some of my current cravings at 11 weeks pregnant:

1. Mac & Cheese!! Yum! Especially the Annie's brand.

2. PICKLES!!! I've always been a pickle lover, but pickles hit different when you're pregnant!

3. Cheeseburgers and French fries- this one was a big surprise for me! I'm usually not a huge burger fan and usually french fries are easy for me to pass on. but dang! I love them now more than ever!! lol

4. Propel water- I used to drink these all the time when I was younger, and I haven't thought about them in years! Then one day, after throwing up my guts, I NEEDED a strawberry-kiwi Propel water! Turns out they are actually great for pregnant women to drink! So thats a plus! 😊

Food Aversions:

1. Avocados! EWW!  In the beginning on my pregnancy, just the word avocado or the sight of one made me feel sick!

2. Pizza...I'm usually a big pizza lover but lately it just sounds so gross!

3. Chocolate and sweets! Usually I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth! I'm a choco-holic! But now I would much rather have savory foods or salty! (I still eat sweets, but I don't crave them like I normally would.)

The body is so interesting! I'll be curious to see if any of this changes later on during pregnancy or after baby B comes!

Thanks for reading!

I just realized I'm covered in the Pringles I've been snacking on while writing this post! hahaha!

How to roll with the change

Although I've still been going into my office Tuesday-Friday at church, I'm starting to feel a little trapped on my weekends at home... And I just got word that I will be working from home staring tomorrow. These past couple weekends I've found some tips and tricks for me to not feel so stuck during this time. I hope some of this helps you as well! Note: this is all based off my personal experience and opinion.  1. Get dressed!  I know this sounds so simple! I found on the days I actually get ready (not full glam) but a normal outfit (for me leggings/joggers and a sweatshirt) I found I feel more motivated to get things done! The days I stay in my pajamas I end up just wanting to watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians on the couch all day long! Not saying there is anything wrong with that! But I also NEED to get some stuff done around the house and I just found that getting dressed helps me to do it! 2. Adjust your focus. When I start focusing on the...

DIY Jewlery Presents

This year I wanted to make some homemade, DIY Christmas gifts for my family! In July I had injured my lower back really bad and couldn't even get from the couch to my bed without being in pain! So I started making jewelry again, which I hadn't in years!! I forgot how much fun it is to create something for yourself or someone you love! So for the Christmas gifts I'm making I already had all the beads, tools, and string I needed to make something special for my mom, my grandma, and my niece! I hope when they open it on Christmas they will know how much time, effort, and love I put into the jewelry! 😊💝 These beads are from Hobby Lobby and so is the bead organizer! - which is a MUST!!! This Jewelry making kit is from Target and it's AMAZING!! It came with cute letter beads, pliers, jump rings, chains, and clasps! All for around $15/$20 Of course I had to be festive and make the Christmas jewelry presents next to our Christmas tree while watching al...
