A New Decade!

Happy New Year friends!! It is officially 2020, a new decade! Last week in our staff meeting, we reflected on how God has really showed up and came through for us in our lives the past 10 years.
I was overwhelmed thinking about how much Jesus has changed my heart, my mind set, and my life from when I was 13 to now, 23. I was so amazed thinking about all the times God was protecting me from people and typical teenage things that I "missed out on" but I realize it was His hand on my life through it all. And I pray that is the same case for my future children someday. A fun thing my husband and our friends did last week was creating a 2020 bucket list together! We each individually wrote down realistic and fun things that we've always wanted to do and promised to complete them by the end of 2020!! Some of mine included:

Designing my own Stoney Clover Lane bag in Palm Beach, FL

 Holding a baby cheetah

 Being more intentional with my HS youth students 

 Going to a drive in movie (never have)

 Eating better (aka not eating chocolate between every meal)

 I would encourage you to do the same! It is so fun to plan out exciting things for the new year, not just things you know you need to do, like working out and decluttering. lol! Below I'm attaching good things that happened in 2019!



                                       Celebrated 2 Years of being on staff at The Vineyard!!


                       Enjoyed a Valentine's Day dinner downtown at the Oceanaire with my husband!

                                                 My Husband bought me my dream vanity!  


I celebrated my 23rd birthday and my husband threw me my FIRST EVER surprise party!!

We purchased the best swing ever for our backyard! 


I started making Valerie's Vanity YouTube videos more consistently!

Enjoyed our swimming pool with family and friends all summer!


Got my hair done! & LOVED it!!

We celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary at Kings Island for the weekend!

How to roll with the change

Although I've still been going into my office Tuesday-Friday at church, I'm starting to feel a little trapped on my weekends at home... DIY Jewlery Presents

This year I wanted to make some homemade, DIY Christmas gifts for my family! In July I had injured my lower back really bad and couldn't even get from the couch to my bed without being in pain! So I started making jewelry again, which I hadn't in years!! I forgot how much fun it is to create something for yourself or someone you love! So for the Christmas gifts I'm making I already had all the beads, tools, and string I needed to make something special for my mom, my grandma, and my niece! Well the big secret is out! Tyler and I are going to have a baby this October!! While this was a pretty huge surprise for us we are so excited! I was saying before we found out that we're pregnant how I want to get more prepared before we start having kids by paying off our credit cards, getting better about managing our money, to get physically strong and fit....but I'm now realizing we have the rest of our lives to do those things! Goals are great don't get me wrong, but God's timing is perfect and I think I was just using those things as an excuse because deep down I was unsure if I was really ready to become a mom!
